Our Story
The idea for House of Griff came to life in a dentist’s waiting room in late 2020. While flipping through a magazine, we stumbled upon an interview with a surfer discussing their struggle to keep their skin healthy and youthful despite constant exposure to the sea and sun. Their routine involved a long list of pricey, specialised products—and even then, the results were only partially successful.
Fast forward a few years, after numerous false starts with various cosmetic labs, countless reformulations, and rigorous testing, House of Griff is proud to introduce its daily moisturiser. Designed for both men and women, this lightweight yet powerful product addresses all the challenges a surfer’s skin faces in one simple high-performing solution.

The Prevented Ocean Plastic Programme prevents over 1000 tonnes of plastic from entering the ocean every month, and has so far prevented over one billion plastic bottles from reaching the water.

- Prevented Ocean Plastic™ work, either in partnership or by investment in infrastructure, in locations, countries and regions where independent data tells them there is an ocean plastic pollution problem.
- 80% of the plastic polluting our oceans comes from land based sources in developing coastal communities. This is where Prevented Ocean Plastic™ work.
- To be considered ocean-bound plastic, each four of the following criteria must be true at the same time.
- The country or region lacks proper waste management infrastructure and collection incentives.
- The infrastructure is being overwhelmed by population growth and/or increased tourism.
- There is a significant risk to wildlife and biodiversity if plastic contaminates their ecosystem.
- It is found within 50km (30mi) distance of an ocean coastline or major waterway that feeds into the ocean.

Discarded plastic bottles are picked up by plastic collectors from areas at risk of ocean plastic pollution.
The bottles are then taken to local collection centres for payment.
Upon arrival the plastic bottles are sorted and then pressed for transport to plastic recycling factories.
At the factory, the plastic is washed, sanitised and processed into raw material flakes or pellets, all according to European and North American quality standards.
The recycled plastic has certified traceability from coastline collection until it becomes sustainable recycled packaging on your bathroom shelf.
