What is House of Griff?
House of Griff is a fresh cosmetics brand founded by a passionate, albeit very amateur, surfer dedicated to addressing the unique skincare challenges surfers often face.
Why doesn’t your daily moisturiser contain SPF?
Recent research has shown that moisturisers with SPF are often ineffective at providing the full benefits of either. A moisturiser is designed to be absorbed into the skin, while SPF needs to sit on top to form a protective barrier—much like priming a wall before painting. When combined, these two functions compromise each other. Even if a product claims to be SPF 30, the actual protection may be closer to SPF 10 or 12, because the moisturiser dilutes the effectiveness of the sunscreen.
For optimal protection, we recommend using a standalone SPF product after applying our daily moisturiser. This way, you’ll get the full benefits of both, ensuring your skin stays hydrated and protected.
Is it for men or women?
House of Griff is gender neutral and for everyone.
What makes House of Griff different?

Is the daily moisturiser exclusively for surfers?
Not at all!
While the moisturiser is specifically designed to tackle the challenges surfers’ skin often encounters, it’s a high-performance, fast absorbing and non-greasy product suitable for anyone seeking exceptional skincare. So even if you're not able to get in the water as often as Kelly Slater, it can still be a useful addition to your bathroom cabinet.

Is your packaging sustainably sourced?
Absolutely! We’re proud to use bottles made from Prevented Ocean Plastic. This innovative initiative collects waste plastic before it enters the ocean and harms marine ecosystems, giving it a second life as sustainable packaging. Does House of Griff test on animals?
No, we do not support or engage in animal testing of any kind.
Are House of Griff products vegan?
Yes, all our products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Is House of Griff reef-safe?
While there’s no official legal definition for “reef-safe,” our moisturiser is compliant with Hawaii’s Reef Act 104, one of the most stringent cosmetic regulations designed to protect marine ecosystems.
Why does House of Griff only have one product?
It took us four years of careful formulation, testing, and refinement to create the perfect daily moisturiser. We only launched it when we were 100% confident that it was not only something we loved, but something we knew you would too. While we’re actively working on expanding our product line, we’ll continue to follow the same philosophy: we’ll only release new products once they meet our exacting standards—truly exceptional, and something you’ll never want to live without after the first use.
